I would like to wish everyone a happy and safe New Year. It is updated multiple times daily and yours truly co writes. So in closing, I’ll be updating to this soon. HAPPY NEW YEAR, see you all in 2009 . =D
For the past three or so weeks I’ve heard the hype around this book and movie called “Twilight” and tried to avoid seeing it or having the desire to read the book, but here I am today having seen the movie twice this week already. Now, I recommend that everyone go see it, it is well worth the money and I plan on reading the books beginning over Christmas break. I perused through the bookstore today in anticipating the day I’ll be purchasing the book (I’m waiting until finals are over), I’ve heard the books tend to suck you in, so I’ll wait so I can focus solely on that.
“TWILIGHT is an action-packed, modern-day love story between a teenage girl and a vampire. Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) has always been a little bit different, never caring about fitting in with the trendy girls at her Phoenix high school. When her mother re-marries and sends Bella to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she doesn’t expect much of anything to change. Then she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), a boy unlike any she’s ever met. Edward is a vampire, but he doesn’t have fangs and his family is unique in that they choose not to drink human blood. Intelligent and witty, Edward sees straight into Bella’s soul. Soon, they are swept up in a passionate, thrilling and unorthodox romance. To Edward, Bella is what he has waited 90 years for – a soul mate. But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy. But what will Edward & Bella do when a clan of new vampires – James (Cam Gigandet), Laurent (Edi Gathegi) and Victoria (Rachelle Lefevre) – come to town and threaten to disrupt their way of life?” ( twilightthemovie.com)
Been living under a rock and haven’t seen the preview? Well here you go:
It’s that time again, were the nation decides upon who will be placed in the white house governing our nation; every vote is just as important as they have been in the past. I know that this year a lot of first time voters have the opportunity to cast a vote; don’t give up your right to choose. I urge you to go out and vote and if you’re not sure who you want to vote for, look up each candidate (Senator Barack Obama w/ VP Joe Biden & Senator John McCain w/ VP Sarah Palin) and find out what each of them stand for. So get out and vote, it affects your future.
Not sure where to start to enlighten yourself on the issue, here are a few links that’ll get you started. November 4th is the day, so don’t delay get on the bandwagon and decide.
College, high school, elementary school; it doesn’t matter; everyone has that first day back. It’s one of the most petrifying things that a person can go through. I speak from experience, and from observation, when I say that people go around with the new haircuts, new hair colors, fresh kick, and everything else that they deem as important and will get them even an ounce of attention from their peers.-But what most people fail to acknowledge are those that go unseen, go they ever care what the “little people” feel like? Those that can’t make friends dread even stepping foot from out their dorms (or houses, if you’re one of those students like me who chose to stay home and commute). No one stops to realize how hard it is for others to adjust, because everyone is pretty much self consumed (come on now, be honest with yourself). Just remembering the worries I once felt as a college freshmen and how alone I felt is enough for me to keep myself grounded; as an upper classmen I feel our duty should be to at least share a smile with them and maybe point them in the right direction if they look a little frazzled, while trying to get their bearings. It’s called being considerate, try it; it’ll make you feel good for going against the grain and REALLY being the different person in the crowd. Stand out!
